Belgian police now using TATP spray to train specialist dogs at airports

BELGIUM – At the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Geel, it is developed and produced a spray containing TATP as part of a test kit for aviation security inspectors, containing samples of various dangerous materials. In Brussels Airport, police have trained specialist dogs to trace minimum amounts of explosives with the TATP spray. To train the dogs, officers spray pieces of luggage with the solution and line them up with people carrying unsprayed bags.
