US Congress to prevent Pentagon to purchase or develop INF banned missiles

Dec. 11, US House of representatives approved a compromise on the defence authorisation bill for the fiscal year 2020, foreseeing that the Department of Defense (DoD) has to submit a comprehensive report in order to purchase and develope new ground-launched missiles previously banned under the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. In date 12th of December, the Senate had not voted on the legislation. The Senate vote will be the step before it is sent to the president’s desk for his signature.
