German Constitutional Court about to limit intelligence agencyโ€™s powers

Jan. 14 – The German Federal Constitutional Court could think about introducing soon more limits on the activities of the BND (foreign intelligence agency) after a claim proposed by a human rights lawyer and a group of journalists.

The complainants protest against a law that gives more powers to BND, potentially exposing German journalists to surveillance without valid grounds, exploiting international phone calls they make, e.g. with foreign colleagues.
