U.S. President confirms existing investigation whether the virus came from Chinese lab

Apr. 16 – U.S. President Donald Trump said his government is investigating the Chinese responsibilities in the spreading of coronavirus and, specifically, whether the virus emanated from a lab in Wuhan, China. U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, confirmed that Beijing needs to clarify its involvement in this disaster.

According to some U.S. broadcast, the virus originated in a Wuhan laboratory not as a bioweapon, but as part of China’s effort to increase their biological capabilities.

“We are doing a very thorough examination of this horrible situation that happened” said Donald Trump at a White House news conference asking to these rumors.

Last February, the Chinese Wuhan Institute of Virology denied the hypothesis that the virus may have been artificially synthesized in its laboratories. The broad scientific consensus holds that SARS-CoV-2, the virusโ€™ official name, originated in bats.
