Belarus confirms cooperation with Ukraine in the case of alleged Russian mercenaries

Aug. 5 – According to what reported by Belta news, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that Minsk would cooperate with Ukraine in the case of a group of suspected Russian mercenaries, captured and detained by Belarusian security forces last week.

Regarding this controversial case, Ukraine is asking for the extradition of the men for their alleged role in fighting in eastern Ukraine. Russia denies any involvement and connection with the men, denying that they are mercenaries and stating they work for a private security firm.
